About Us
Christine Millar, B.A., B.Ed.
Christine received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in music from TWU, and a Bachelor of Education from UBC. She focused on piano and saxophone, as well as conducting various ensembles. She began her career teaching secondary band and choir with a highlight being her Junior Jazz Band from Campbell River Christian School winning gold at the West Coast Jazz Festival in Nanaimo.
Over the years, she has been involved in a variety of experiences from teaching music to preschool children, to arranging music and performing with a vocal jazz ensemble, to directing a “mature” German choir when she didn’t speak a word of German! In recent years, Christine has played piano in the pit orchestra for a number of musicals including Annie, Chicago, Sunset Boulevard and the Drowsy Chaperone.
Presently, Christine owns and operates Millar Music Studio in Chilliwack providing services as an accomplished pianist, teacher, and director. In addition to teaching piano, Christine is also a piano accompanist for a variety of musical endeavors. She performs both as a solo pianist and as part of a vocal trio “Amethyst”.
